Since 2004 Hungry Elephant has helped many non-profit organisations fundraise through online shopping.  We are proud of our history and all we have achieved over the last six years.

However, over the last 12 months our costs have risen steadily whilst the recession has significantly reduced our income.  We have tried to weather this storm, but eventually have had to accept that these ongoing financial pressures make Hungry Elephant’s fundraising service unsustainable.

With regret, we will therefore be closing all accounts on 30 November 2010.  Please continue to use our links during November, as all commissions will be tracked.  During December we will issue final statements and make any payments due.

APPROACH FOR SMALL BALANCES

Please note that due to the administration costs of processing payments, we will take the following approach for organisations whose closing balance is under £1, unless you tell us otherwise: we will pool these balances to form a combined lump sum donation to the Disasters Emergency Committee.   Please let us know if you would prefer us to make your closing payment to your organisation even if it is below £1.  If your closing balance is over £1 we will pay it to your organisation in the normal way.

Many of our organisations have been with us since our early days and we have been honoured to be able to provide a valuable service to you.  We know that in some cases we have made a significant contribution to your fundraising and we are sorry that we can no longer continue this service.
